New Bank Health Centre was founded in 2010 as a new practice, under a government scheme to increase the number of doctors in certain areas. The practice was run by SSP Health Ltd until September 2017, and is currently run by Better Health MCR, since October 2017.
Better Health MCR Primary Care Network (PCN)
PCNs are groups of GP practices working closely together, to provide integrated services to the local population. Your GP practice is part of The Better Health MCR PCN, which is made up of three practices:
- The Robert Darbishire Practice
- New Bank Health Centre
- The Whitswood Practice

Part of the NHS family
Like other surgeries, we are part of the NHS family, providing NHS primary care services to NHS patients under contract to NHS England. We are in the area of Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board (GM ICB) which oversees health services in this area. We work with these organisations to ensure that the services we offer are of a high standard.
Listening to our patients
We very much value the views of our patients, you can complete our online Friends and Family Test, this helps us to find out what our patients think of our service. We also carry out occasional other surveys on specific issues. If you are asked to complete a form we hope you will take the time to share your honest opinions with us, as this will help us to learn about what we can do better. We also encourage our patients to submit comments and ideas for improvements and we have a suggestion box in the waiting room.

The practice is part of a group of three, under the umbrella of Better Health MCR. This is a limited company, registered in England and Wales number 7382763. The registered address is Rusholme Health Centre, Walmer Street, Manchester, M14 5NP.
Management responsiblity is held by the board of directors, which is made up of senior clinical staff and managers. They are: Mr Scott Brunt (managing director), Dr Mohiuddin Miah, Sr Rachel Shelton and Sr Victoria Tolliday.

Better Health MCR also runs The Robert Darbishire Practice in Rusholme, The Whitswood Practice in Moss Side, The University GP Service in Crawford House and provides GP services for Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
